Mysterious Hose End

Could somebody more attuned than am I to the history of canister cleaners please tell me the brand and vintage of this hose end? Also, does the gray rubber cuff belong with it?

Hey Marty, that would go to a GE swiveltop, the early ones before they used the "button" style. I have two swiveltops that use that type of connector.

Ah, yes! I know it well! I have both a ST and a RE, and yes, both of the vacs use that style of hose connector. I think it was a flawed design on the ST as it kept rubbing up against the top of the vacuum leaving permanent paint scrapes and possible rust spots. Mine has both...
