It has been 2 years since I have posted pictures of my complete collection. This is my collection to date, except for the 5 or so that are for sale, a Fantom at the vacuum shop and an Oreck I am lending to someone from my church. I have been collecting for 5 years now, and have about 75-80 machines currently. Most of them are 20 years old or older, so I posted it here. I have also been selling LOTS of vacuums, 36 since June to be exact. I have machines ranging from the 1940's up until 2010. About 3/4 of them are bagged, the rest are bagless. I have some uncommon machines like my Lewyt Electronic, Eureka Freedom and Premier M.O.L upright. The Lewyt and the Connie don't look too pretty, because they are in the process of being repainted. Enjoy!

Wow, Such Variety!

That's a great collection! You have almost one of everything. Which one is your "daily driver", or do you just switch between them? Boy, that Eureka Freedom is tiny. I've never seen one put up against a full-size upright before. How well does it clean?

Thank You for all the comments!

Here are my answers to the questions so far:
-I actually don't really have a daily driver, but i'm on a Kirby kick right now. I just bought that Tradition and Ultimate G this week. Great machines. Usually, I just use what I feel like using. I still will usually use an upright for carpets and a canister for floors.
-Sadly, the Freedom doesn't have a battery, so I have no idea if it runs. A shame, because it's in excellent condition. The vac shop I got it from didn't have the battery. I am using it for mainly display, I doubt i'll ever be able to find a battery for it. It is quite small, lightweight and basic. Like a boxy, cordless f and g upright. No attachments or height adjustment. A one layer paper bag is the only filter it has, so of course it would belch dust out.
-I do have many machines, I try to find vacuums that interest me. Obviously, the only bagless machines that really interest me are the Fantoms, for sentimental reasons, and the growing popularity and scarcity of them, as collectors buy them makes them look more desirable to me when I find one. When I find any Fantom (except for maybe a silver Fury), I feel that I struck gold!

Thanks!

I am still on the look out for vintage and some more modern machines. Right now, i'm focusing on selling some, to make room for more, and to have money to fix my machines in need of repair.

Fantomfan, you don't post your e-mail on your profile so I have to sorta drop my drawers in public here ^_^ If you really are selling let me know if you want to sell the Hoover Dimension or either your oldest or newest Kenmore canister.

Oh, I'm sorry

I Did that for privacy. I should have been more clear, I DON'T have the vacuums that I am selling in these pictures, only the ones I am keeping. The ones that i'm selling are on CL and i'm only selling through that. I am too young, and I don't have the time, to deal with transactions other than through Craigslist.

I have a picture of the Fantoms posted on this thread.

It is picture #9. Did you mean that you want to see individual photos? With the exception of one, those are all of my Fantoms. My two Kenmore Destiny Pluses and Drytech are in the Kenmore picture.

Nice collection, and great variety too! Know what you mean about not having a daily driver. I don't either, just use whatever one I grab at the time.
Jeff

I really like the variety in your collection!  Like you, I get on kicks too.  But for uprights, I always go back to Kirby and Eureka.  For canisters, my favorite is the older Compact/Tristar models.  Although, I do have a fondness for Electrolux metal tanks too.  And I have to admit, I love my Hoover Constellation too.  That is just a really fun vacuum!

Thanks for posting!

Thanks again!

I really like my vintage vacuums, especially the canisters. I am working on repainting the Constellation, Lewyt and bottom of the Kenmore Magicord.

Wow!

Took me awhile to find your collection pictures, but it was so worth it. Reminds me of the old days before I thinned out my herd. Glad to see the Airway in it. Now I have to weed out my toaster collection. If I can ever answer any questions, let me know.

Some more naive/dumb people!

A "Solitaire" canister (It says SANITAIRE in big lettering on the front of the vacuum!) Must be some kind of nice diamond-encrusted canister.
An older Bissell Powerforce Bagless that has been "tuned up" for $75. Are you kidding me? That is $25 more than it cost new, several years ago! Somebody will really be screwed on that deal.

FantomFan, as they say: "a sucker born every minute"

...and someone ready to cash in! You hit on one of my pet peeves - people who seem to be completely clueless about obvious things. When I first started collecting (repairing and selling like you - but back in the day ), one of my biggest source of inventory was combing the curbs after Christmas. Dozens of people threw away great vacs ( buying new Chinese plastic crap to replace them ) and the only thing wrong would usually be a clog or jam from Christmas tree needles or a broken belt! Knowing you are out there with a head on your shoulders - esp. THESE DAYS, does me good!

that collection is amazing I love you fantoms vacuums

Nice old Dysons!

I will try one someday when I visit the vacuum museum! Those are two Kenmore Destiny Pluses, the 11 amp from 1995, and the 12 amp from 1997. They were rebadged Fantom Thunders sold through Sears. Fantom made the Destiny, Destiny Plus, Destiny 2 and Destiny 3000 for Sears up until Fantom's demise. All were Fantoms with Kenmore labels, and most sold for a higher price point than the Fantom. They are much more uncommon than the Fantom's, and I'm proud to have a few of them. Why don't we post up pictures of our Kenmore Destinys everybody!
