vintage canister

My Blue Kenmore Power Mate. still runs. about 32 years old. still missing the tool rack(hard to find part unfortunately) & the 4 attachments. Still would like to have the missing peices but having no luck at all. My last resort is a whole another vacuum.

heres my Kenmore using a type O HEPA bag(for upright cleaners). it does fit perfectly & does a good job of trapping the Mold, Pollen, Ragweed, spores, & dust mites.notice the 2 extra bags (5033) store inside as shown.

Joe......

I agree! As cheesy as fake wood is- it sure looked great on these machines!

I'd pass out if I ever came across one of these one day. The only thing I never got was the skinny, thin wheels on the back of the PN. Strange design......but oh, so cool!

The Kenmore Power Mate

My aunt had a Kenmore just like yours, but it was olive green in color (and yes, it did have the fake wood on it). I think hers might have been a bit older, however. Does yours say "Magicord" on it?

I remember distinctly how the power nozzle sounded on that vacuum. I also remember thinking that the footswitch was cool. I'd like to find one of these some day!

Oh man, I had that same Kenmore... complete with attachments and tool rack (had all attachments, brand new shape), but the power nozzle neck broke and I couldn't fix it or find a new one so I threw the whole mess out.... it was just taking up room and I couldn't keep something I couldn't use anymore.... I'd have sent the attachments to you if you wanted it... but back then no one did, so out it went. I think I mentioned getting rid of it in a thread, but no one responded so I didn't have any guilt about throwing it away.... I looked for a new power nozzle or at least the neck for years before I threw the sucker away.

I can see it now.......

Brian and I running to all the thrift stores, trying to keep a few paces ahead of the other for the great Kenmore find!

LOVE the foot pedal thing too! That was the first thing that ever got me back in the 80's.......

Stay outta my way, or I'm taking' ya down suka! LOL =o)

i like the old kenmore i onced used one over the summer and i thought it worked better and lasted way longer than the new kenmore vacuums today. The year of the vacuum i used was a 1979 sears best i think.
