This is my Aladdin and perfection heater the Aladdin needs a wick . How old are they? And was the Aladdin marked in the USA ? And I paid 50$ for the Aladdin was that to much?

A friend has
the one on the right, the tall heater. I'll be up at his house next week and will ask it's age and where it was made. He and some neighbor friends like to sit around it at night on the back patio, in cooler weather and catch up on things. It is fairly old. It's toasty. I'll let you know after I get back next weekend! Billy

I heated a house with a kerosene heater many years ago. Mine was one of the square ones. I sold it when I moved out of that house and I have never once missed it.

This reminds me of a news story I heard a few years ago. There was a house that caught fire here and the cause was determined to be that someone used gasoline in a kerosene heater, I would that's a recipe for problems, gasoline actually burns much faster than kerosene I think.

Reminds me of that time I poured gasoline on a dying campfire, and it didn't burn. I knew, of course, that the gas had vaporized and was now floating on the ground around the fire pit. Told my friend 'don't try to light it!' Well as soon as I turned around he lit a match and it went boom and set his pants on fire.

I wouldn't use one inside the house.
I had to one time as the furnace wouldn't stay on longer than a minute when the blower came on. The problem with the kerosene heater I had was that it burns up a lot of oxygen and you have to keep a window more than just cracked open. Kind of defeated the whole idea of heating the house. The smell was too strong of kerosene too. There was no flame height setting it was full on or nothing. I burned a quart of fuel that night and the house smelled bad for the next day. Where ever you use these needs to be well vented. With the garage door partially opened my friend uses his when working at his work bench to warm him not the whole garage!
