Here is one of my favourite vacuum. I bought it a three years ago and now I cleaned and polished it.
This is from 1975. Made in Denmark.

My nilfisk GA70 comes again

You can use this with an original bag or bagless. Also new microfiber dustbags fitted on this. You can suck almost 10 litres of dust on this. Because that this model was very popular in heavy duty use in 1960-1980´s in shops, schools and so on. I remember that we have the same kind of vacuum cleaner used for fire station as well as a swimming hall until 1990´s.

Stunningly Stylish & beautiful polished aluminum bodied machine, Markus.

I found mine a few years ago in a dumpster bin behind a vacuum store. The Shop Owner told me it came from the Xerox Labs in Rochester NY where it was used to vacuum up copier toner dust. Essentially intact with clean filter basket & hose but no cord, tools, wands or top defuser cap.

Because of the pale blue rings on the hose I scrounged up some generic blue accessories, aluminum Electrolux wands and a blue cord that fit the socket.
So shiny, well built and powerful - 75". And the pontoon-skirted tricycle gear base is a joy to tug around. Love the ball & socket hose couplers.

I have the slightly newer version with the handle ontop ( will post pics tomorrow )
It works to this day every day attached to the bench polisher in my Vac shop.
great little work horse.

In the late seventies and early eighties these vacs were affixed to many industrial machinery that needed suction or cleaning

Hello Markus,

Lovely find. I bought the GS80 new in 1992 and have been delighted with every aspect of the machine.

As we both know the 80 was the final stage in the development of the '70' line, always expensive machines; certainly here in the UK, but worth every penny.

Sadly Fisker & Nielsen have lost their way over the last few years.

Regards, Walter.

love those Nilfisk "Silver Bullet" vacs-would like to have one in my collection.thought I was going to get one from a cleaning contractor here at work-we changed to another contractor and the Nilfisk vac sat here for a couple months-asked the station mamanger for it-he said to wait and see if the contractor will pick it up-sure 'nough -contractor came and got it.Was in nice shape-just had the hose and a bare floor tool.no others.

Hi Markus

That looks great! Did you polish the casing by hand? I had a similar GA70 but had to let it go, mine was missing the wheel set however, and had a later replacement hose. On the advice of other members here, Autosol was great to remove years of tarnish from mine but it did take plenty of elbow grease! Now wishing I had kept it around.

Are those open-ended paper bags still available now? Mine did not have the bag ring so I used later Nilfisk bags with the blue plastic fitting.

Rob
