Well, look at my new machine!! It is a GE Swivel-Top; the exact one they used to advertise in the movie gallery of VL. It is not in the best of shape; paint chips, wrong cord...but it does have its original bag. No attachments, no PROPER hose (stupid replacements!!), but for free...I would say it was worth my time of lugging it to the car!! haha... So here are some pics:

And more...

Yup, read the subject! Oh, yeah. I replaced the broken switch. Luckilly I had a push-button switch just laying around. I put it to good use!

And here is the last. I hope you didn't get bored lookin

Ok, here is the last. If you can't see well...(sorry; lighting issues) the model # is VIIC2. So there 'ya go! Oh, and the serial # is 559944. I thought that was pretty cool. What year would that make it? I would guess 1955.

1953. AND that was the first model of GE swivel top to have the flip over rug/floor tool. The paper bag goes into the cloth bag, and is then fed through the hole in the top of the bag support, flared out, and then the lid is replaced. That's the second GE swivel top model made. Ironic that GE got famous for the swivel top, since they stole the idea from Air-Way's model 55 Sanitizor. Everyone thinks GE stole the idea for the flip over rug/floor tool from Electrolux, but they (lux) wouldn't 'invent' the tool for another two years after GE brought it out.

The pink C-3 that everyone loves so much, came out in 1954 and ran through 1956.

EXACTLY, Tom!! Good point!

Well, what was that vacuum that was shown in the commercial that was that "old vacuum that you must drag around?"
