HELLO!!! Just to let you all know, my birthday is Easter Sunday, (4/5/15), and on Thursday, I got a little surprise from my mother, IT IS A RAINBOW D4C, with all attachments, including the Power Nozzle. This one is the HOLY GRAIL of all Rainbows, (right next to my Model D) and yeah. BEST. GIFT. EVER!!!!

Some Pics:

Happy birthday and Happy easter!

I know you'll love that Rainbow. It NEVER smells. You can even pop the basin in the dishwasher. Was that a refurbished one? If not, the new brushrolls for these are MUCH better than the old ones. My D4 can now rival my other canisters with carpet cleaning.
That will be one of your favorite vacuums. - Mitchell

Thank You!

Thank you all for the nice replies, I am now 13 years old. And Mitchell, I am not exactly sure if it is refurbished. I think it was, but never made it to local dealers. It says that it was a "Refurbished: 1981" at least That's what it says. :) I will post a picture of it in a bit.

Just as a point of reference, where the motor unit fits over the basin, on the right side of the opening is the serial number, on the left side is the date it was manufactured. I think the date code is by quarters of the year.

Here's a pic of the one I found at Goodwill for an embarrassingly low price about a week ago.

Happy Birthday Logan!

I have one of these Rainbows myself ... they're awesome machines! I wish you many happy years with it.

The model D4 was Rainbow's 50th Anniversary Edition. It launched in April of 1986. Only machines made in 86 have the golden anniversary sticker on top. Mine was won during a sales contest in May of 86. I sold more Rainbows than any other salesman one weekend. I've used it probably 10 times its entire life.
