Hello All,
Once again - A HUGE thank you to Tom… The Prima is a phenominal vacuum...
Now that I have had a few hours to give it a quick run around the block, here are my initial impressions…
First - The build quality is top notch - Fit and finish is flawless - Paint Job is excellent - screen printing of the text on the vacuum is crisp and clean… Very solid feel - No extra flash to be found on any pieces of the canister… No gaps - All seams are nice and even and flush… Carry handle is the absolute perfect size, and I have large hands… Both filters are very easy to access and remove…
The Canister itself is VERY, VERY quiet… Suction is monstrous - The Prima could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch - Nice long cord - The hose is the perfect length, and it seems more them flexible enough for me - Not at all as stiff as my the hose on the Miele's or Sebo's that I have had,,, The vacuum follows you around very well…
The hose swivels at the hand grip end, but is fixed on the canister fitting.. But to be honest it did not kink in use, and did not cause any problems… I love the angle at which the hose comes out of the canister…
Far enough above to not cause scuff marks on the canister during use…Love the lighted switch on the hose handle as well as the secondary air bleed control on the handle…
I ended up keeping the dusting brush on the canister clip - Much more convienient for me in that location… The Electrolux style dusting brush is great… A classic….
The Soft Sweep floor tool does a very job… It got up all the fine dust that was on the floor along with all the larger debris.
The Power nozzle is louder then the actual vacuum is, but it is not any louder then an Electrolux power nozzle is… It is not shrill or whiney at all - The triple brush aluminum brush bar did a great job of grooming the carpet, plus this is the fist power nozzle that did not wrap any hair at all around the brush roll… And we have two long hair Rag-doll Cats and a Maltese dog as well… The dirt sensor in a cool thing to have on the power nozzle, but I personally have always thought they were just a little gimmicky…
Overall this vacuum addresses and overcomes all the issues I have had a with most of the other canister vacuums I have had… And lord only knows I have been through them all, and some on them more than once !!!
I am going to talk to Tom and only want to add two attachments when they become available…
I want to get the Handheld Mini Electric power brush (Tom said they were not available yet for the Prima), and I would want to get a horse-hair bare floor brush to use on the walls… The floor tool with the micro filter pad is great for the floors, but a wide bare floor brush is a must have for me for the walls…
The handle connecting to the power nozzle is great for large furniture area's, but for the stair treads I prefer the higher control of the smaller hand held power brush…
So - In closing for now, Tom should get a big thank you for the hand he had in getting such a great vacuum into production…
I am doing my bi-monthly heavy cleaning on Saturday, and will add some more comments after that cleaning is complete…
