I picked this up on eBay a few days ago and I love it so far. I wanted to find one of the older style Orecks like the Classic which I remember seeing in commercials as a kid. I was amazed when I first unpacked it because of how good it looked, not a spec of dust anywhere and no scuffs either! It's almost a NIB machine. However, it made horrible screeching sound when turned on but come the end of brushroll was bent somehow and wouldn't turn at all. The seller was very nice about it though and gave me a partial refund and showed me which brushroll to buy to replace it! I thought that was very nice and excellent customer service! It runs like new now except for needing new headlight bulbs and I've already ordered some bright LED bulbs to fix that.

Very nice Oreck, especially for the age. A lot of our customers preferred the "stick handle" Orecks. They were always 299.99 except around the holidays and no longer had lights. Where did you order your light bulbs if I may ask? How about a glam shot with it lit up!

Thank you!!!

How old would you say it was? I prefer the "stick handle" myself as well actually. I bought the bulbs on eBay (here's a pic of the ad). And I will most definitely have a glamour shot with it all lit up, it's probably the brightest light I've ever seen on a vacuum cleaner, could be because they are taillight reverse lights that would go to a car though lol.

Austin! Both my parents had those when they were new. I restored one and Toby got it for his mom. I have TONS of bags for it. Let me know if you need them.

Austin! I think they got them in the 80's? My dad bought one for him and one for my mother. No, he didn't clean the house, but he did always take care of my mom even after they divorced!

Very nice Ken!

The 80s was what I figured, it definitely has that look about it lol. I've been loving it so far, it definitely does a great job with cat hair!
