My new Montgomery Wards Signature Hand Vacuum Cleaner Model 82URC-102. I got this from a local ebay classifieds add for $20 with shipping. This is a very rare Montgomery Wards Hand Vacuum. I have searched on this website and have not seen anyone else with this model. I have seen a Green one, a chrome one, an orange and brown one, but not a blue one.

Problems it has:

1. It needs to be cleaned
2. The outer cloth bag will not stay on. It keeps rocking back and forth. And when you turn the vacuum on, dust comes out like smoke. I may need to clean the inside. For sure, I plan to wash the bag. For sure, this hand vacuum was not taken care of very well.

What year is this from? For sure, it is not as old as my Aldens. I would predict 1970s this was made. It also has a better sound, a smoother sound than my Aldens. Also higher pitched sound too. I think the amps are higher.

Congrats. Even though it needs some TLC it's great that you got it ... and for a pretty fair price. Those smaller ones are easy to throw in the regular trash where, unfortunately, many have probably gone. So, even though it's not in great condition you're still fortunate to have purchased it.

Sometime, you should post a photo or more of all your MW Signature handhelds together.

I only have 3 hand vacuums, a Brand New Dirt Devil 08130 that I purchased NOS on Ebay, an Aldens Hand Vacuum that the user told me it was new when it was not, and now this one I got off a local ebay add. I want a New in Box Royal Prince. There have been some on ebay, but I want to wait on that. I am specifically looking for one still sealed in its box. It will be a huge investment, but it would be worth it.

The motor on this sounds a lot better and higher pitched than the motor on the Aldens. Yet, the vacuum is so dirty. I would also think it's from the 50s as well.
