Hi, The other week I was offered this as long as I paid for the postage...
Well it arrived today. A earlier version of the Hotpoint Light N Easy:o)
I've already gave it a quick clean up. The bearing need regreasing and the zip doesn't unzip. I'm not sure I can unzip it with out breaking the zip. I would like to empty the paper bag inside it and put in a new one. Any ideas how to get in to it with out damaging the zip??

But I do like it. Still some work to do on it. Hope you like some of the pictures I've took of it.

Wow James!!! What an amazing acquisition! You must be very pleased! In regards to the zip, have you tried rubbing candle wax on it?

Hi Paul..

Hi Paul.

Yes I'm pleased with it:o) I've never tried candle wax before. Have you tried it before? The zip is at the top and don't move at all.
Would WD40 do the same thing?? Or do you think it will damage the bag?

James:o)

Hi James:)

My god James that was a dirty vacuum! Well at least it would have blended in with all your others!! Only joking lol you did a great job of cleaning it. What did you use? (Polish etc...?)

James,

I think WD40 may stain the bag. I've tried candle wax on a few stuck zips ( coats and jeans) but never on a zip that old. I hope it works for you.

I have to say that these UK Hotpoint uprights are quite handsome! Nice sleek lines and simple motor head cover. Very simple, understated and elegant. Did they perform well compared to other uprights of their era?
