I got this for £8 on Sunday 16th March 2014 at 5 PM. When we collected it, the man took me to his shed and before that, my Dad told him that the Dyson if for me. when he got the Dyson, a wonderful sight met my eyes when I saw the car turbine head which was included and had never been used!

He asked me "I don't know why it's not working, why do you want this?"
Me: "I, err, I have an interest in Dyson"
Man: "Oh right! cool! what do you do with them? do you fix them and sell them on?"
Me: "Oh, no I just keep them"
*Man walks out the house with the Dyson and it gets placed in the boot of our car*
*I sit in the car and open the window to hear him and my Dad speaking*
Dad:"Nice!"
Man:"Yup, that tool has never been used" (it came with a DC07 adaptor, a DC05 kind of or DC19 type adaptor and a DC08 adaptor)
Dad: "He loves his Dyson's very much"
Man: " That's quite interesting, which is very nice"
Dad: "How's £8?"
Man: " yes, that's fine, well it's for him anyways"
I gave him a thumbs up as we drove home, he smiled lol.

At the arrival home, my Dad spotted that the cable had tape on it.
I immediately started working on the DC04, I thought the filter had caused the motor to overheat, so I plugged it in, and nothing. so I carefully removed the yellow switch actuator and took the cable wiring apart, and swapped the cable for a DC07 one which was the one with a grey circular plug.

I plugged it in, switched it on and Wow! it was soooo quiet. It's my second best DC04 out of the 6 I had (first best is the brand new one we got in 2011) The brush was spinning slowly, I thought the clutch was bad.

I then swapped the dirty filter for my clean one, emptied the thing, washed the cyclone, bin, insert, very well along with the internal hose,, brush housing and soleplae. I removed the end cap of the brush bar, and there was loads of dirt and hair balls there! The bearings were bad so I swapped them with my Absolute+ DC04 which was crap and scrap.

These are the pics of the DC04 from what the seller took: After pics might come soon!
Enjoy!

That's what I thought, well it did make the suction go, however the cable was the main culprit.
