Double-helix vs. Quadraflex vs. Vibra Groomer

The one thing I like about the double-helix is that it makes pushing the power nozzle easier; as if its self-propelled. At least the double-helix digs deeper into the carpet; it even outcleaned my Eureka Dial-A-Nap w/VGII or Hoover Quadraflex PN (with either a Filter Queen K31X or TriStar CXL) I sometimes used to use the Quadraflex for vacing problem carpets; but a Lux or TriStar A101 PN with double-helix outperforms most PNs on problem carpets (deep shag, thick plush) With the double-helix, I don't really need to use a pile-lifter before shampooing carpets; unless pet hair is an issue and/or the carpets haven't been vacuumed in a long time.

The Electrolux PN6 (paired with either models G, L or 1205) or TriStar A101 can't be beat![this post was last edited: 3/11/2013-19:58]

I thought Aerus/Lux was going to make different types of brush rollers!

The green bristle HPO for heavy pile carpets

The black bristle double-helix for general purpose

The blue bristle "pile-lifter" for pile lifting before shampooing carpets or vacing high-traffic areas

Lux should keep making the green bristle HPO & blue "pile lifter" brush rollers.[this post was last edited: 3/16/2013-15:53]

Lux PN motors

How can I tell the difference between the heavy-duty 2 amp motor vs. the current Johnson 1.2 amp motor? I want to try out the green bristle HPO brush roller on the TriStar EXL or Electrolux 1205 w/PN6 & see if they perform better.

I wish Lux still made the 2 amp PN motor & green bristle HPO brush roller.

2.1 amp motor

Erik,

The motor you are looking for has a green field. Go down to your local lux branch and find a used one. The power nozzle you are looking for will have a black circuit breaker. I am sure there are some new motors around if you get the part number.

How does the Guardian Ultra & Guardian Platinum work with the green bristle HPO brush roller? Are the PN motors still working good? I still haven't decided on which other machine to buy with the Guardian Platinum & either the Classic or Legacy.

Update

I finally found the green bristle HPO brush; it came with my 75th Anniversary Epic 6500. I dont use it too much because I might 'fry' the motor
