Dyson DC01 vs Fantom Thunder

Since I have both, I can answer as to how they compare. The Fantom's brush roller was much more aggressive. As the Fantom used a TWO FAN Lamb motor, it had a lot of airflow, but without a pre-motor filter, the Fantom's filtration was terrible. They didn't use a pre-motor filter because Fantom wanted to sell Hepa filter (at $75 a pop). The DC01, running on 240 volts, has more airflow and filters fine dust far better than the Fantom. Probably because there's more g-force at the tip of the high efficiency cyclone. Also, the DC01 was easier to work on and maintain. As far as cleaning an American carpet, the Fantom Thunder was excellent, the DC01 only average. But that's due to the brush bar design almost exclusively.

My 2 dc15's, This model was not available here either.
The yellow one is from the UK

The red one is Australian, It states it has Radix cyclone technology, Instead of the the normal Root cyclone technology

It took a call to an Australian friend to find out why it was not called Root cyclone technology, Well it seems a Root in Australia is a Slang word for, um coitus :)
