There is some truth in what you say Karl. I place blame with the salesperson 9 out of 10 times on this for NOT properly teaching the customer, Grrrrr!!!
It truly was more meant to indicate... "belt is on" OR "belt is off" [[ ...the pulley position when attached. ]] imho
[[ With a vehicle just because you stick the key in the ignition & turn it & move the shift lever, does not mean you are going to go anywhere. If the wires or linkage are NOT hooked up properly you are still going to be in the same spot with frustation. ]]
Kind of a 'should be' rather than a 'will be' like the vehicle.
