This Electrolux Started it all

I started in March, When I found my Moms Classic III in storage. I already had found my Grandparents Electrolux, and in three months had a massive collection of those and then started on the Kirbys. My goal is to refurbish every one, they get new fans, carbon brushes, bearings if needed, new labels, brushroll, trim and whatever else to be perfect. I rebuilt the Heritage II, to use as a daily driver, then found the Legend II, rebuilt it as a driver driver....Then I found the diamond edition and was intrigued by the speed switch it has, so I rebuilt it with a new fan, trim, brushes, outer bag and brushroll. So that is my everyday one. I just bought a new Avalir 2, because the Kirby guy offered it to me cheap. He actually ordered it for me, I was there to see the warranty thing ripped off the box. I used it for 2 minutes and just cant seem to use it anymore because it has a unique new smell. So lll fire it up to smell it only for now...LOL

My two favorite brands...

are Kirby and Electrolux.

That's one incredible collection to have been amassed in such a short time. I thought I had it bad picking up a Sanitaire SC 686 and two Kirbys— a Legend II and a Heritage II Legend, all in the space of a month.

Is the PN-4 on your Electrolux Olympia original or repainted? It's very nice either way. I don't think I've ever seen a PN-4 with original paint, either Olympia brown or Silverado gray, that wasn't scraped all to hell.

Wow - impressive collection - I hope you are able to get to them all! I have done myself in with my collection, amassing more than I can actually restore.
However, if they work, they can stay.
Don't you love it when only one machine starts a complete infection of a collection? :o)

JR - very cool picture of you with the Omega! Hope you still have that machine.

Awesom Pic!

That Olympia is all Original, except the cover that was replaced in 1992, that's probably why the paint is so good, my grandma was the type that wiped it down after use and run it across the floor at the speed of smell. I have quite the Electrolux collection as well. That is a awesome pic, I have one when I was younger with my Dads gold Heritage and this same Electrolux. I wasn't into vacuums enough back then to know how rare the Kirby was or where it came from, lol.

Tie

Nice face off. It looks in area cleaned about the same. The Kirby took you a little longer on your movement but areas vacuumed it's I'd say draw.
Nice comparisons electrolux and classic 3. I'm guessing your lux is pushing 8 or more amps and classic 3 is 6.5 or 5.5.

Very nice

lineup and variety of Kirbys there! The Classic III is my favorite. One of the first Kirby vacuums I remember seeing as a kid. My grandparents had one. In my opinion collectors have a greater appreciation for vacs that they personally restored themselves and all of your Kirbys look great and nicely polished!
