here is my kirby heritage 1 been working on it the last year.

today i just got a 13 inch nozzle for it. polished it up put on a new 4 row ball bearing brush thanks to forum member A007kirbyman for that. i also replaced the rubber gasket on the bottom of the rug plate.

other things i've done to it. i replace the factory oringal lexan fan with one of the newer amodel fans. put replace front and rear bearings with some made in japan Nachi bearings.

i also replaced the handle the part that holds the bag holder in place was broken. the original one had one long skinny pieces of plastic at the top then 2 small plastic nubs at the bottom. both of the nubs at the bottom were busted off and the top one was starting to shear off due to it being all that was left holding it in place. the replacement handle they seem to have resigned this to fix that problem. the new one just has 1 sold block of plastic that goes from the top to the bottom of the channel that the holder sits in so it was take a crazy about of force to break that off.

i also replaced the fill tube with an Avalir fill tube and a f type bag adapter. the avalir fill tube fits perfectly on the oval shaped heritage 1 fill tube boot not sure if it would work good on a heritage 2 as i believe they have smaller boot.

i also have a NOS shake out bag for it the matching orange one never been used. i don't really plan on using it just wanted it to have a complete set of stuff for it.

i'm down to only needing the hair cutting set for it. i already have all the other attachments as well as a handie butler. and the blue coloured jig saw. i also have the dirt meter demo tool and the power suction demo tool. 6 foot stand hose and a 12 foot g series hose fitted with the heritage coupler.

Keep that 13" nozzle... it is super rare for your machine! I noticed the original labels were replaced, too. The original labels would have said "Kirby" (top) and "Heritage" (bottom).

ya this was heritage 2 small nozzle. i swapped the bumper and belt lefter to the matching gray ones unfortunately there's no way to get the original labels anymore these were all i could get.

You actually did a great job finding that proper Heritage I 13" wide bumper, considering it is even rarer! That was part no. 500503, and it was also used on the COMVAC 1300.

actually what i did was buy a 16 inch one. i put the left side on then pulled as hard as could then marked off the hold on the right side and used a drill to make a hold for that side put that on then cut off the extra. i kinda figured that's all Kirby did being that the heritage ones i saw pictures of had the same bumper the 16 inch ones did. were as the heritage 2 version they seem to make a custom one just for it out of what of looked the older 60s style bumper but made it black instead of one of the older colours.

I'll have myself a heritage 2 13. Kirby needs has the stickers for belt lifter because my heritage didn't have them. I had a Lexan fan but put amodel on it. I did changes to bag setup exactly like yourself.

i got my stickers i think from usavacuum. as far as i could tell the bottom stickers for heritage, heritage 2 and legends just aren't made anymore they just make a generic one that's says Kirby on it. the top stick the only one u can get now is the one for a legend ii.

i checked high and low to try to find the original ones but these ones are all stores carry now.

if someone has any original ones id buy them off them.

about the only other way i guess would be to buy an original 16 in nozzle and pull its stickers off. but seems like a lot of money to spend buying a nozzle just to get some stickers.

Stickers no more

The only stickers available for the Heritage series are the ones you have. The only way to get one now is to find one NOS on ebay or somewhere. I see a lot of the small nozzles on regular vacuums, but rarely have seen the 2HD-13 Model power plant.

I bought my Heritage II 13" nozzle separately, so while it does fit, it does not make my Heritage II a numbers-matching one.

I'm no expert but a PDF imagine saved printed on a red, burgundy, black etc could print a decal. I'm no expert but it's not hard to find an imagine.
I'm not saying I've ever used green sticky paper and printed a logo onto it.
If you print a 4x6 matte pic were talking.50 and you apply adhesive to back is another option.
It's not oem Kirby.

You could go to a Kirby store and see if they would sell/swap you a complete rectangular belt lifter handle, complete with stickers, from a for-parts Heritage with a 16" nozzle.

The lower sticker would be untouched through this, but, as you know, the narrow aluminum decal above would have to come off to get at the screw. Careful surgery with a thin razor can remove it without damaging it, though.

forum member A007kirbyman Had a brand new set of the factory belt lifter labels and a set of brand new gray wheels unfortunately he didn't have a new set of the factory hub caps so i had to perverse the originals even though there a tiny bit scuffed.

replacing the rear wheels was a piece of cake just had to take a utility knife insert the blade in the edge of the hub cap then turn the wheel it cut though the double sided tape like butter and they came right off no problem. then removed the c clip from one side and both wheels slid right off. slid on the new ones and put the c clip back on then glue the hubs back in place.

the front wheels were a lot more pain in the butt. after getting the hubs off there's 2 Phillips head #2 screws on either holding on these ones rather then c clips. whoever put these screws in from the factory must have used an impact gun or something they were in there tighter then holly hell. even with a high quality snap on $2 Phillips screw driver i couldn't break the screws free and the metal there made from was to soft to take it the heads started to strip.

the screws are also recessed in to the wheel to it made getting pliers on them impossible. had to take a dremal use the cutting disc to cut a groove in the plastic around the edge of the screw deep enough so i could get some needle nose vice grips clamped on to the edge of the screw then i was finally able to get enough torque on the screws to break them free. once the screws were off i just put the new wheels on and screwed them back in and glue the hubs back on.

The tradition, heritage and my super sweep have screw issues. They machine tighten screws and every tear down a screw gives. If you come across one use dremmel to make deeper grooves in the screw. If not a flat head screw they sale vice grips I used many times including heritage 2 13, super sweep and tradition to pull out screws. If it's accessible at all the vice grips get them.
Bill also has 4 row brush roll in case you didn't know.

yes as i said i used vice grips to get the screws off but to do so i had to cut in to the plastic to make a groove so i could push the grips down deep enough to get a grip on the screw. i have a brand new brush i bought from bill.

guessing that's why the newer models went to torx screws so much harder to strip out the screws when the factory over tights them.

Sorry misquoted you. The new t15 or t25 screws strip out just as bad. Just because they change top of the screw doesn't change the fact they strip out.
The 4 row brush roll is sweet.
