My hoover Constellation 867A

Hey!
I bought this vacuum yesterday. Could you tell me why there is so funny this flip over tool. It look like there is a some kind of adapter in it. But I am quite sure that this is an original one because there is a hoover label too and vacuum is quite little used.

adapter is so tight that I can´t get it off.

Maybe it was a later replacement for the original floor tool?

I have never seen a combination floor tool like that for Hoover either. I have always seen them with Electrolux here it the USA.

It may be a tool that was tried in the european market for a short time.

Floor Tool

A design similar to this floor tool was used on many European Hoover cleaners from around 1970. I say similar as it is not QUITE the same as the Hoover version - also it is not the correct tool for this cleaner, which would have been supplied with the "classic" floor too supplied from Hoover 862 (86) onwards. Also the Hoover version has a plastic rather than metal coupling.

As European Electrolux also used a flip over tool I think this may hhave been a generic replacement nozzle for both makes (its the red dot makes me think Electrolux) inspite of the Hoover logo which would have been over the area where the screw is.

Markus, you are lucky to have founds such a good example of this cleaner, although I think that perhaps you have another?

Hey!
Yes I have an another model of this same cleaner but it´s with different floortool and there reads constellation in hose outlet so I think maybe this is a little newer model. I paid this only 15 euros, and vacuum owner was a old man. I think he used this only to clean his car, because small nozzles looked so used and hose was so dirty.

Actually I found exactly the same cleaner on the internet and there is also this same nozzle. (this is not mine)
