My GE V11 C3 canister vacuum

I have too much stuff and too many hobbies. Thinking off selling this baby, even though it was my grandmother's. I use it fairly often for my basement office, and had a new hose put on it by AAA Vacuum in St. Louis.
Even though it rolls, The Wife said it's too heavy to use regularly and (like all things) it takes up limited space. I actually had another one just like it I picked up from a family friend, but The Wife made me get rid of it.
The emotional attachment makes it hard to ask, but does anyone know if this is a desirable model? I was going to put it on Craig's List, but I thought someone here might be interested or have some info.
The bottom is marked Model V11C3 and Mar 1965.

I'm just looking at the Electrolux model XII moth vaporizer that is sitting next to the GE swivel top canister. It's the thing that looks like a metal donut.

My maternal grandmother had this model as well. It's not the greatest vacuum cleaner in the world but it's got that fun funky styling and color!

It would have more value as a collectible if it still had the original brown hose.

(Note to someone who might be thinking about buying it: The chocolate-brown hose for the Kirby Classic -- not the Classic Omega -- is an almost-identical replacement for the original hose.)

It is a 57...notice the plastic swivel top, the first ones had the metal one like yours.

The Brown hose

Is the correct one for these, 55-57, My 58 c-4 has a rose colored hose.

GE V11 C3 Mfg date

I believe you guys, because you seem to be the experts. However, I removed the wheel base and took these pics of the bottom. Maybe it is a replacement for the original, or a service/repair facility marked it with this date, but the 1965 is unmistakable. I guess just chalk it up to another unsolved mystery of the universe.

Anyway, it's not like I'm parting with a family heirloom, but I'd hate to sell it to some local on Craigslist for $15 who will just destroy it sucking up drywall dust. (I found a Kirby in this condition in someone's trash.)

I will check the freight to BC. It's pretty heavy, and I guess I should have weighed it already. I shipped something once to Canada. Not a big deal, but there is some sort of import form to fill out.

My daughter is going to San Juan Island near Vancouver soon, but she will be flying.

I would have put it on eBay, I just did'nt think anyone would would be willing to pay the freight. I'm not even sure how I would crate it.

In the old days...

Many vac shops stamped the repair dates on machines...Hoover was especially known to do this, ive seen 29s and 63s with 8 or 10 different dates stamped on the bottom.

I agree with Hans, it's a vac shop service date stamp. They did this so that when you took a vac in for service, they could tell when it had been serviced last.

1955 GE Canister V11C3

I am king of procrastination and still have this vacuum posted at top of thread. Anyone interested? I am in the St. Louis Mo area. I really don't think it will pay to ship it far due to it's weight (about 22lbs plus accessories).
Let me know of any interest.
