I have to give a shout out to Bill (Vaclab) for helping me along my way here. I recently posted about the noise level with my Sentria 2 and how it bothered my oldest son. After seeing Bills awesome collection and running different Kirby models I settled in on the Heritage II. I found a decent machine on OfferUp and got it this week. I ran it Saturday and again today with my wife home. She thinks I’m crazy for having 5 vacuums at the moment but I think I’ve found the one. I believe the testing that I’ve seen and understand that you need a great amount of CFM along with suction to really clean well. Kirby fits that bill nicely. I was able to have a conversation with my wife while vacuuming and my son was helping me. I told her I’ll sell the others and keep the H2. I can’t believe it but I can see myself adding more H2s, an Omega and maybe a Tradition for a collection. Never thought I’d collect vacuums but they are pretty awesome and still going strong after 30 years.

Side note; I saw the Royal YouTube videos most recently done by Bill and although that machine looks neat I’d need to wear ear plugs. It sounds obnoxiously loud!

Maybe

You are right on royal vacuum noise. I have a 1977 royal 3 amp motor and it cleans great and is super quiet.
The tradition is a sweet vacuum but the bag system is bunk. You would be best to put heritage 2 bag setup on tradition and classic if bought. They all clean well but the bag setup you would want to use is heritage bag setup.

super find

Love reading of your enthusiasm. Bill had a big effect on me too....his testing convinced me to get into collecting them....

Here are some pics from the listing and two I snapped this morning. According to the listing description it was just serviced and the outer bag was replaced. The fan looks good, the motor sounds great and I love the low sounding hum it makes while running. It has the known issue with the headlight flicker and it seems that the handle lock switch is stuck and won't move.

Headlight

If there is any shaking of the light. A fix would be to put a piece of aluminum foil could stop the shaking and space between.
