My favorite Electrolux of all time

Is my beautiful and awesome model 1205 from 1971. This is the 'second' generation (of 3) during the long run of the 1205. It's stunning. Barely used when I got it, the hose is sealed tight. It runs so smooth.

I think the first gen had a pig tail end at the canister, second direct connection, third features pn2

Well I do recall the pigtail on my Grandmother’s 1205 and she bought it in 1970.

1205 Variations...

I think the earliest iteration had the pigtail port for the power nozzle and a black metal face on the control panel. The next version had no pigtail port and the control panel was molded plastic. The fascia around the hose port on the first two iterations was light teal. Both of mine are the second iteration. At some point, the fascia changed to a darker teal to match the control panel. The next running change was the 'crinkled' finish and the final version was the 'Golden Jubilee' model, which got a gold color scheme and a redesigned handle. I believe it may have also received a different model number--1210 maybe?

There were also different power nozzle/hose/wand combinations. Most shipped with a PN1. I'm not sure whether any of them came with the PN1 permanently attached to the wand. The most common version was the fixed length wand with pigtail cords top and bottom. One of mine came with the Canadian style telescoping wand and early pistol grip hose. Later 1205's came with a PN2 as did the Golden Jubilee.

My information may be slightly off but I think it's mostly accurate.

My 2nd favorite Electrolux of all time

My gorgeous Model L with Canadian-built telescopic wand and pistol grip electric hose. These were only sold for a short period of time before they wand/hose style was beefed up for the U.S. This one is still virtually new, although I do take it out of its box and run it for pictures.

You would be so kind to do a repair clinic on YouTube showing disassembly and cleaning of an L motor! LOL.

As I had said in another post, I am not too comfortable doing this without some sort of reference video. I did look on YouTube to date no one has done a such video.

I would be happy to make a video. I'll have my friend Adam the Kirby King (as we call him) film it for me. I'll let you know when it's up. There will likely be cussing, because that always helps get old motors apart. Lots of cussing. Lol.

Some of the Golden Jubilees were Model 1205 later ones were Model 1210

Lovely 1205. Such a classic quality machine. Have had many among family and friends but I’ve never had one among my collection.
