That's a pity they are often overlooked at in favor of Miele here to and its to bad because they make some pretty good bagged vacuums much better than anything I have seen out of Miele lately.

The problem is like Toyota people buy Miele here in SA because of what they used to be and when they break prematurely they just blame the maid for abusing it not realizing that the quality has dropped.

That Royal Protégé upright in reply #121, I remember seeing one of these & remember from the rating plate it was made in South Korea. I would bet good money that cleaner was made by Daewoo for TTI. Another possibility, although highly unlikely, is it could have been outsourced to Sanyo, before the Panasonic takeover.

By the way, Dan, here is a Hoover you may want to consider adding to your collection....the Hoover Air Pro upright, made to compete with the Dyson Ball. I bought one last year & love it! Only bad thing I can say about it is I wish it had a upholstery tool included, & the turbo brush is not that great....takes very little to stop the brushes & make it ineffective, despite the great suction & airflow this cleaner has. If you do buy it, use the turbo brush that came with your Windtunnel Anniversary canister....I have one of those & it works much better. Here is a link below for you to the Hoover website.

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Congrats Daniel, & enjoy your 90th Anniversary Lux Guardian upright!</span>

Thats very nice Dan, I have a siemens version of that , similar but not identical. Its at my shop I will see if I can post pics tomorrow. It does not have a PN ( sigh)

I totally agree with you, The hose on my one is just to short. I dont know what it is with European vacuum company's and short hoses. I know the houses there are generally smaller than in the USA and South Africa but even in a small house a long hose is great as it means less need to  pull the machine around.

You don't want to have to tug the vacuum behind you every five minutes just to vacuum a small room.

I think this is just why I have always preferred uprights, why drag something behind you and then still push a floor tool infront of you when you can just push the upright instead.

I used to have the Aerus Little Lux. Got it for free from the local vac shop....someone brought it in claiming it was broken when there was nothing wrong with it. Great little hand vacuum, did a wonderful job on pet hair! The only reason I got rid of it was I disliked emptying the shake-out bag, made my allergies act up too much. Too bad they don't make paper bags for it.

I have a little lux Dan. Works great. I Use it for a quick clean up

To clean out the bag I just stick the craves tool of my full size lux in the zipper end of the bag. No worries than about shaken out and breathing in the dust
