Hi Vacuumboy!

Congrats on the new to you vacuum from the yard sale.

I have actually refurbished and sold three of this style vac over the years. Two of them were the yellow series and one was blue. The colors that Eureka used on these units was gorgeous. The machines were relatively easy to use and when filters are brand new, the machine has good power.

However, in my experience, I was unfortunate to find that in working with this series vacuum that Eureka made them of very cheap quality. They clogged quite easily, lost power quick and the spin duster technology did not work well. All of the ones that I came across that feature did not work or the duster was broken.

What worked out best I found, since the spin duster contraption didn't seem to function much at all or dusters were broken and not worth the cost to replace--- I ended removing the entire duster assembly and hooking the hose straight into the outlet that the duster contraption attached to. The hose will fit in just fine!!

Be prepared that if you spend time cleaning and servicing this unit that they are very very dirty inside. You will come across a lot of dust in the motor, headlight area, etc. I recommend having another vacuum available with attachments to help with the process. Also be careful as the housings are a lightweight plastic with high possibility for stripping screws or parts breaking!!

These units sold brand new only at around $70- $90.

I have attached several links below for filters, PowerPaw and some other tools. These units did not come with much: Extension wand, long crevice tool that stored in the wand, a small ovular dusting brush tool, duster and Power Paw.

My recommendation to you is to watch how much money you invest into this vacuum. Unless it is for show and just want it for the what the vacuum was, as a part of your collection, then you may find it best to use another vacuum for tools that has a bag. Once these units get just a tiny bit of dirt on the filter, then power diminishes quite quick.

It's quite easy to continue investing lots of money into these units as they go through belts quick, brush roll end caps break, filters brush roll bearings wear, duster doesn't work, etc.

For the money that you put into this you may find yourself a far better working and better cleaning Hoover Tempo, Hoover Windtunnel bagged upright, Eureka SmartVac bagged upright, or who knows, maybe even a Kirby at a low price. They show up at Goodwills all of the time.

Like I said I'm happy for you and the new to you find but just want you to be aware of some problems related to this model as I have experienced in coming across several over the years. Due to the problems I have come across, I stopped taking them in for clean up. For a decent bagless machine find a green Dirt Devil Wide Glide Envision!!! They are very very easy to service and last far better!!!

I'm not quite sure how many other responses you'll get for this. Many members on this page are pro-bag and don't have bagless vacs. I myself don't own any bagless vacs either. The Eureka Altima is one that gets messy quick too!!
