eBay & Paypal

I won a IBM Braille typewriter on eBay, and asked the seller if he would wait 3 days for the payment and he said no problem so I use the buy it now, a couple hours later he started hounding me for the payment. All of a sudden he couldn't remember that he said it would be okay to pay in three days. Well, I paid for the typewriter seller said I should have it a week or so, and that he was sending it via UPS the next day. Well, I never got it, and and the seller never answered any of my emails. So I filed a complaint with both PayPal and eBay. It took me 2 months to get my money back. I don't think he ever had this typewriter which was rare model being Braille, and he had a total of 3 machines including mine. There was another Braille machine available from another seller at a much higher price. It turned out that he took the pictures from the other seller. Guess he thought he scam 3 people. That's the one time I'm glad I used PayPal.

Charlie...

You've activated my curiousity, as I live in Florida. I'd love to know who the mysterious "Alexia" turned out to be, so I can be prepared...just in case.
Maybe you could email me with that information? Thanks.

I sold a vacuum to this guy on Ebay recently and he paid with Paypal. Today I received an email from Paypal saying the money had been pulled back. I know the exact same thing happened with Phillip. So I called up Paypal and explained the situation and they said they would give me my money back on this deal. They have a seller protection plan that this fell under. As long as the item was shipped within seven days of the money being sent to me and I had a tracking number, it was covered. So Paypal came through for me this time.

Oh no Andy, that's awful. I don't know what to tell you to do about this one. This guy is not a very good person to be dealing with on Ebay. Hope you come out ok, but at least you know now and maybe can protect yourself from losing too much in the deals. This is a perfect example of why Ebay's new no bad feedback for buyer's really sucks. Good luck!

I'm tellin' you...

you've really got to be careful. Even that doesn't do it at times. There are some dilly's out there. I've been burned a few times too - by sellers and buyers. I suppose anyone who uses Ebay regularly has had this happen and learns to expect it, although it sure can make one mad.
On the bright side, as you mention, Ebay has recently implemented policies that protect buyers and sellers.

I would really watch out if it is him, I shipped the vac to Florida, and the other id is from Indiana. When he first posted on here he said he was from new york. The auction that he won from me was paid for on the 18th, he recieved it on the 20th and paypal held the money on the 24th. The new ID was created on the 22nd, so all things are seeming to fall in correctly. If his name is las name Coonradt I would cancel his bids or be very cautious. That would be 3 states in a month for him. I really hope that this is a mix up but am feeling that it was some type of scam. Good luck to all involved. Robert

I had the same expierence before. I bought something from someone. oh yes it was a hoover 61. paid and everything and never got it I think I had spent about $170 on it and nothing in the mail. not even to this day nothing. then couple of weeks ago I found the seller selling it again. what a creep he is. he told me that I never paid and that I was going to have to pay for the listing fee. I told him that I paid for it and that I was not paying anything until it was sent. after that no contact no nothing.

When i bought my hoover 28 from evlstang2020 which is now evlhoover he is listed here as being in flordia, but on ebay he was listed as new York. After a very long wait i recieved the base which came from New york and almost 2 weeks later the handle and the remaining pieces came from Flordia. Something Isn't right and he should be blocked by everyone here who is selling stuff and I will not be stupid enough to buy anything from him again

All those plastic convertibles that I posted a while back to part with, he bought from me using paypal but not going through Ebay. The day before he got the vacuums he pulled all the money out. Thank God I had already transfered it to the bank account, however my paypal is shut down at this time.
He now has the convertibles.

hello here is my number 315 525 3125 for all the people i owe money or owe a vacuum/ im not a bad man nor do i lie. im haveing a serious ebay paypale problem it was not me how has your money on hold and who tried to pull money. i opend an account at bank popular big mistake, i did cause my mank account to overdraft . so all the money has ben sent to you on the level. but bank popular didnt like that i overdrafted and pulled or rejected payments. so the only thing ebay and pay pal could do is eather stop payment or put a hold on it. my ebay was suspended because of this. it says im able to make payment on unpaied winnings and settle disputes. but when i try to do eather it just opens a account restriction notice and thats it there is no number to call to ebay to talk to some one or fix it . i have contacted ebay by email and havent recived a ancer yet. i would love to pay for the winnings but ebay isnt letting me see any of my account info and winnings onley unpaied strikes and an your emails you send me but again when i try and pay or respond to an email i get sent back to the window that states your account is restricted please pay all debts and revied unsettled disputes. so its a catch 22 it just keeps going in a circle and i dont know who to go for help or how to figure it out. all of my atempts havent worked. i try and get the shipping adress for a hoover furtura to ship it to the buyer but paypal and ebay wont let me access my sold or won items(excuse my spelling)

I prefer to stay out of these types of discussions.....

...but, I'll tell you a little story, for the sake of education, that may be of interest to some new members.

I had an interesting Ebay experience about six years ago with some foreign lady (perhaps a man) who's user ID was "coolbluewater" or something on that order. The listing featured a photo of a very nice original Hoover 800 in her Ebay listing. I bid or "bit" and won the item. It took forever for it to arrive. What I received was not the item in the photo but a beat up 800, handle missing. pieces of a cord, and a home-fashioned baby-blue pint bag presumably made out of someone's old draperies.
I was so disappointed in the order and in this seller. When I called her to complain, she insisted the baby blue 800 was the one featured in the lisintg. I then complained to Ebay. She was soon history and that account suspended. I haven't seen her since, at least not under that name.
Hope this story may, in some way, help a future Ebay bidder as a reminder to be extra cautious and to question everything that may not seem to be quite right.

Hey there evlhoover. Sorry about your luck. I just wanted to let you know that your posts would be much easier to read and understand if you took the time to write properly. This isn't English class, it doesn't have to be perfect, but some effort would be nice. It might even be faster than asking people to excuse it! I'm not condemning you. Just telling you that quite often people online match their level of respect for a person to writing style because that's all they know about the person.
