I have been working on for months. Completely took everything apart and cleaned, and rebuilt and replaced everything to make it fresh as new! It works great! Been waiting a long time for this. Took vacation and got them done!

Wired a new cord.

This was actually a brand new cord that was about 5 feet long for a hose, and I trimmed and stripped and it was a perfect replacement. Too bad they don't make more replacement parts in aqua but I like the matching beige too. :)

New wiring complete.

Not original but safe. Still can not get over finding that brand new aqua cord after many, MANY hours of web searching.

OH YEAH! Finally!

Now to enjoy it. I swear I go keep looking at it! I wanted this for years and never took the time, and decided to bite the bullet and start my collection and save to invest in it and started finding what I wanted. Life is short!

A little off topic, but, how many feet long is the hose you are using with it? I would like to get a replacement hose like that for my Diamond Jubilee, and that looks just about the right length for me!
Thanks!
Chase

It's about 6' including the handle.

Chase,
I had to call a lot of places to find the color. It would look great with a GJ or Super J. Did not see these for months and then after I bought it noticed a few places had them online. It is beige, white and light gray.

You did do a very nice job. Congratulations. I had a 1205 smooth-side as a daily driver back in the early 1980's. I think I was just a little upset that I didn't have a Super J (that I attempted to sell for a while). So, the 1205 really never appealed to me then - collection wise. However, my view has changed over the years and when I see one that looks as nice as the one you restored - it makes me appreciate them for the transition machine they were.

Good job.

Rick

Thanks everybody.

I could not wait to join and post these pictures. I hope it inspires someone else to take the plunge and just do it. It is so worth the enjoyment. I have vacummed the house five times already. :) I wish there were more genuine parts available but the hoses are good and the beige and gray generic coloring looks pretty good.

<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms,geneva; font-size: medium;">"A thing of beauty is a joy forever." Nice job! The hose does look great. It looks to be the same one that I got for my Grand Marquise and it's a Most Excellent hose!</span>

Hi Brad

I found the hose on Ebay new. You have to make sure to specify color. I had to return some hoses I did not like! :) Tyler

Thanks Rick

I really like these vacuums and am a bit OCD about how fresh and clean they are so I replace wheels, hose, wands, elbows, brushrolls, etc. My OCD is a good thing here. :) Tyler

Nice Restoration Job

Fortunately my 1205 (1205 #2) didn't need so much; everything was tip-top shape. I wish I had time to restore the other one (the one my parents had when I was younger; now its my sister's 1205) but with kids, they sure "drain" my energy to do my side projects.

That is a good looking 1205 floor-a-matic

That is very similar to the one I grew up with exept yours has the PN2. The actual 1205 I grew up with was in my grandmother's garage and she gave away or let people take different pieces of it and the tank was badly dented and rusted the last time I saw it. Such a shame. Nice 1205 you have there! :)Tyler

floor-a-matic your Lux 1205

Awesome 1205 you have there! Just Awesome! I have the same brochure. I should have put it in one of the pictures. :) Tyler
