Look after the early ones with the fixed soleplates. Those soleplates are almost impossible to get now.

As an aside, we happen to have some brand new DC01 clear bins in original dusty boxes. Give me a holler if anyone wants one.

To the gentleman in the US upthread that asked about shipping one to the US, these are 220-240v machines and wont run on standard US voltage.

Manchestervacs- I'd like one if those DC01 bins, how much are you asking for them?

They can be £15 delivered. I need to check how many we have, but I recall seeing two or three.

We bought a ton of original, new, boxed stuff a few months ago that was ex-Dyson from the continent, had to send a luton van out there to get it, and there was a lot of treasure in there (for us) and a lot of new DC01 stuff. I only wish there was more of it as it sold so fast....

We still sell DC01's, but it is becoming challenging to find nice machines to start with that are not discoloured or with broken bits on the chassis. Motors are problematical now as the YDK armatures have just finished (I think for good unless we order 10k of them and they will do a run) and we sold our last new Ametek last week, so are now on used/tested ones hereafter.

I maybe should have kept the new machine in the box we had a while back (that somebody pictured upthread) for posterity.

Running a 110-120v machine on a step down is no problem. Running a 220-240v machine from a 110v supply, whilst possible with gadgetry, is not really advised.

Manchestervacs, Get discoloured DC01's, then use steel wool to get rid of the sun bleach, after you used steel wool buff the plastic with a polisher to make it shiny
