So I got my Dirt Devil Deluxe and my Eureka SuperLite that I paid $0.99 and around $25 shipping for on Ebay.
I cleaned up the Dirt Devil last night and it runs pretty well. It really surprised me how well it works, and how quiet it is! It has an 11.5 amp motor and a working headlight. It had a big crack going down the bag cover. I put a strip of clear tape over it, and I'd like to find a replacement cover. One of the slots that the handle slides into snapped of and was glued by the previous owner, and it looks like they drilled an extra hole for another screw. I have four screws in total holding in the handle. I think this is my new favorite vacuum cleaner.
I've had a few Eureka SuperLites, the one I bought along with the Dirt Devil is a red one. I vacuumed off the filter of the Eureka yesterday and turned it on to make sure it ran, and it did. I ordered a new filter on Amazon and I guess I'll keep it at my dad's house as a backup in case the central vac ever breaks. I would have just left my Dyson there after I installed the central vac but there aren't many suitable places to store it, because I put the central vac hose on the wall in the closet I used to keep the Dyson in and I don't want to put the Dyson in the garage, but I'd be fine with leaving the cheap Eureka out in the garage.
