I got this machine at a flea mall many years ago and decided that it was time to clean it up and enjoy it. So today, I liberated it, gave it a good clean up, and put it to work. The PN-4 worked flawlessly on our shag carpet. I used to have all the attachements, but unfortunately, they were lost in a move 4 years ago. I'd like to get a set of attachments for this lovely machine again someday. I used my new genuine Electrolux EH-4 instead of the original chevron brown woven EH-4 which I do still have. The suction on this machine is absolutely incredible. With a HEPA bag installed and a new non leaky hose, this thing is unstoppable.
One minor problem with the Super J is that when I bought it, the carry handle had come loose and was taped onto the machine. The same day, I took it to the (now defunct) vacuum store, and the nice man there fixed it for me at no charge. But now, his quick repair is starting to crumble. The more I use this machine, I see more hairline cracks in the plastic. If (when) it breaks, perhaps I'll just super glue it or something.
I was at an estate sale a few weeks ago, and I scored a Bronze Model G and a Diamond Jubilee with attachments all for $15. I just got through cleaning the Diamond Jubilee, which wasn't all that much fun considering how absolutely filthy it was. I have the PN-5, but it is too far gone. The motor is locked up and the plastic is cracked everywhere. I think I have a spare in the storage unit. I may consider selling this machine. Anyone know a good price for one of these complete?
