Hi all. I've been on here a while but stayed quiet and now I've got some vacs I thought it was time to share images of them! I've got 7 currently, due to be getting in my Aunts DC01, Godparents DC05 (In a while) and possibly some other stuff. I need to type up my current kit to my profile, but here is what I have currently. All the machines I put an * by, means I have no idea of the age, and could someone let me know! Thanks!

Dyson DC14 'Blitz it'
Electrolux Electronic 612*
Hitachi CV775-DC*
Hoover Turbopower U2332 X2
Hoover Turbopower U2090*

I'll attach a pic of them all! May have a pic of the DC01 on my portable hard drive, I'll get digging!

Chris.

Another shot. I love the reflection of the TurboPowers on the Hitachi! (Excuse the dust, the Hitachi has been living in a shed and havent wiped it over yet!)

I found it! Pic of my (Soon to be) DC01. The machine is in a very good condition and has been stored in a cupboard all its life! Will wipe the bumper over when I get it.

Thats your lot!

Chris

Hi Mark!

Thanks, I love them all too!

I've noticed, the DA001 picture is rather looong, please excuse that, and I've been informed its a DA001.

Nice collection, Chris! I like the Hoover Turbopower's & Electrolux upright most I think :-). If you don't mind me asking, what is meant by the Dyson DC14 "blitz it", what does that stand for? Did it come with extra tools or something??

Speaking of false advertising, 'world's first bagless vacuum', to the court room!!

Nice collection by the way, it all starts with 1!

Alex, it's NOT false advertising on the Dyson! To my knowledge, unless someone corrects me here, I have yet to see or hear of any vacuum before the Dyson, Amway Cleartrak or Cyclon that was bagless that incorporated the Dual Cyclone technology. James Dyson DID invent it, & was first to bring such a cleaner to market. All other cleaners before it that were bagless had incorporated some sort of filter in their collection bin. And yes that does include Rainbow, since it used water as it's filter. Any bagless vacuum that does incorporate a filter in it's design is not a TRUE bagless vacuum, since it still has the cost involved of replacing the filter to maintain the vacuum, & it still loses power, which is exactly why James Dyson invented bagless vacuums - to prevent loss of cleaning power & save consumers money on bag & filter replacements.

Rainbow was NOT a True Cyclonic vacuum, Alex. If it WAS a True Cyclonic vacuum, then it would have a shroud & 2nd chamber to separate the fine dust, like a dual cyclonic vacuum, & possibly have multiple cyclones, just like a Dyson Root Cyclone. The Rexair Model A did NOT have any of those elements! All it has is the Separator, same as the Model B has, & it separated the air from the dirt. However, the fine dust would still go thru the separator & into the motor, which is why Tom says Rexair had what he calls a "hepa filter" on it's exhaust, because otherwise it would blow tons of dust in the air. Oh, and also, the Model A was in 1935, NOT 1936. Rexair introduced the Model B in 1936 & added water to it, they needed to add the water to improve the vacuum's filtration. Please kindly get your facts straight before making posts!

You still have to get replacement filters even for a Dyson. What Dyson does not tell you is that overtime, washing the filter will cause dirt to become ingrained into the filter. Over time this dirt will continue to build up. Every bagless vacuum whether it be a Rainbow, Filter Queen or Dyson, will have a filter. All Rainbow has is the exhaust Hepa filter which captures minuscule particles, plus any emissions from the motor. If I remember correctly the newest Rainbow does not even have carbon brushes, so the filter is only there to capture those small particles.  Plus the Rainbow is rated to be used as an air purifier. Air purifiers also have hepa filters. I would not want to use a Dyson as an air purifier, just saying.

"...which is exactly why James Dyson invented bagless vacuums - to prevent loss of cleaning power & save consumers money on bag & filter replacements..."

Whoops Im afraid not! DC01 and thereafter all have replaceable filters that HAVE to be replaced several months down the line. Some were washable but even then they would eventually have to be replaced. I had a DC01 to DC04. The DC03 and 04 were better in terms of longer lasting filters that didn't need replacing as much. But they still had to be purchased and replaced!
