Well, I did something I never do...I payed way too much for something on e-bay..I had one of these years ago,but gave it to a fellow collector and friend who had wanted one all his life, I was glad to make his wish come true, I had not seen another one in the years since, so when this came up for sale I bid on it, well...I figured it would go even higher than what I payed..a prayer was answered and ..Here it is !! A Westinghouse tank!!!

Actually!!

It is NOT formica, that is a 1941 Sellers kitchen table, and the top is porcelian, it is the best thing to knead bread on or roll dough on ive ever seen.

Beautiful machine Hans, looks like it has not had much use. I have a feeling that you will find that canister you are looking for. It was so nice that you gave the one away that you had. Kindness is always rewarded!

Absolutely gorgeous, Hans! Your act of kindness was repaid. I'm sure the other canister is somewhere in your future. Congratulations on a beautiful addition to your collection.

Hans, have you run it yet? Wondering what kind of suction power it has. I have the other two Westinghouse tanks, the "I Love Lucy" model and the maroon one that came just after that one. Neither of them has very strong suction, in fact I'd say that they're both fairly wimpy. But they are very pretty eye candy!

Beautiful, reminds me of my first vac my aunt sent to me via train, remember that stuff guys? May be the same unit, I was very young. Won't tell you what I did with it, suction did not measure up to the Compact for sure.

That's fabulous, Hans! Congratulations! I saw the last minutes of that auction... I'm glad you got it. It's not something that I would have bid on, but I sat here and drooled over the pictures. Did they include the ad that they had pictured in the auction listing? I had never seen that ad before.

Charles!

I had one of those years ago, but you know me and uprights...it didnt stay too long!

You can be sure if it's Westinghouse...

What a cool looking machine. Their vacs always fit in with the vacs of the era, but yet somehow were very distinct.
