All in all, yesterday was a good birthday!!! It took me 2 hours to make my cake!!! It turned out really well! In the pictures I used my Sunbeam Mixmaster model 10 named Tilly, just got her a few months ago, works great! She made the cake mix. Then one of my birthday presents from Sammy was a Sunbeam Junior! I've wanted one for quite awhile now, but I told him to pick one out for me. I love the copper! Down the road he will get restored, but he works great as well! Also, bought myself a couch and had it delivered yesterday! Found it through a facebook garage sale site in my town. I paid $35 for it!!! It's like brand new!!! There's no discoloration, rips, tares, non smoking home, a little discoloration on the wood (but can be easily be sanded and re-stained), and a tiny bit of yorkie dog fur (like 10 pieces of hair)!!! Last night Sammy was asking me how I like my new couch, all I could say to him was that it's glorious! So, I've never named a couch before, but I guess it's name is Gloria, because it's glorious! Ha Ha! Also, last night Sammy made me a homemade dinner of whatever I wanted. He made me meatloaf double beatloaf! Ha Ha! It was outstanding!!! BTW, my neighbor friend stopped by yesterday and she made me 30 homemade cookies! Such a sweet lady! Had to share my little happy day with everyone! :) -Michelle

Happy Birthday!

I had a rather strange birthday this year. On my 16th birthday, I was at my grandmother's funeral in Milwaukee. But because it was my birthday, I got to go shopping at the world's greatest hardware store. MENARDS! I spent $90 there in 15 minutes on light bulbs and a Menards T-Shirt and what not. They do not have Menards store where I live. The nearest one is some 300 miles away in Owensboro, KY.

Everyone

Thank you so much for all the birthday comments!!!!

Alex, yes that coffee pot is not a favorite of mine, just like it because it makes coffee! Ha ha! Sammy had a coffee pot here when I first moved in and he doesn't drink coffee, just had it for when his sisters would come and visit, I used it everyday and it finally gave up its ghost a few years back. I CAN'T go without coffee in the morning!!! Nobody will like me!!!! So, I had to make a quick purchase at Walmart for this Mr. Coffee. Works ok, no complaints, except that it's new! Down the road when this one dies, I want to get an older percolator. Like the orange or avocado colored ones with the fancy glass itching on them!

Bill, those tomatoes are from our garden we had. They're turning red, but ever so slowly!!! Ha Ha! Also, thanks about the couch! It's wonderful!!!

Sonnydad, cool that you had a good birthday as well!!! What day was yours??? That's wild that Alabama doesn't have many Menards!!! It's wild what states have more of than others!!! I know when I lived in Minnesota, their Farm and Fleet stores that I'm use to in Illinois are called Fleet Farm up there!

tolivac, thank you! I love USEFUL presents!!!! I'm very picky in what people get me! I HATE receiving stuff that's pointless!!! Now on the other hand, most people don't know what to buy me because the stuff I want is stuff they would throw away! Literally, I've had this conversation before, I want a radio that doesn't work, or an Electrolux from the garbage! On this site, people totally understand what I'm talking about! I don't want clothes that are in style, don't want knick knacks, don't want stuff that THEY think I need! I've been telling people in my family that if they persist in buying me something, it's got to be old, working or broken, or be money! Ha ha! Sammy had asked me what I wanted for my birthday and he got me 3 things that I WANTED: a brand spanking new STIHL MS 170 chainsaw that will never be used (sits in the living room), the Sunbeam Junior, and a very cool old retro ad brochure for a flexifone that I'm going to frame! I will be posting a picture of that stuff soon! :) -Michelle

My birthday was October 3rd. I go to Menards (with lots of cash) whenever we are in Wisconsin. We don't have Menards, Blain's Farm and Fleet, Mills Fleet Farm or even Taco John's down here! I love all those stores. They have stuff that you literally cannot find anywhere around here. Lowe's and Home Cheapo just can't compare.

Lucy I would like to have a Stihl chainsaw.Think I would at least cut something on it to say I have tried it Like my Shopsmiths,I have tried the both I have.My Dad used to have a Stihl saw.It died on him, told him he could have its motor rebuilt.Instead he bought a Poulan,,the WORST sawing machine out there! This was years ago.He could have sent theStihl to me.I would have fixed it.Right now have two electric plug in chainsaws,McCulloch and Remington. They work but their chain tensioning devices don't work so good.I eyeing that Oregon cordless saw with the digital SRI motor and lithium batteries!A video was shown of the achine outcutting gas saws.
