this vacuum isn't part of my collection as such. its just something the neighbours gave to me and if I didn't take it they said it was going to the tip. its just your everyday bagged upright vacuum cleaner. this one is about 9 years old. its not new looking and hasn't been kept looking lovely. I just use it for my everyday vacuuming. the point is- its reliable its still going strong and has many years of life still left in it. surely you have an old reliable?

My old Windsor Versamatic is my old reliable. It's a '98 model and is still holding up to the use it endures from me each day. Needless to say that it's rugged and a high performer. An overall good daily driver, alot like your Morphy Richards.

I had two of those models as the bagless versions - dreadful. However the bagged version is better and it is no surprise to find that the model you've been given has lasted for so long. Obviously its been maintained.

No surprise for me that my daily driver that is now 15 years old is our old X1 Automatic. Driver no.2 is the Felix - at 7/8 years old.

Taking care, maintaining and good product to start, amazing how long one can last! People are shocked that my Silverado is over 30 years old! Really???

if you maintain a vacuum, it can last you years. but the people of today just throw them out for silly reasons. I have seen vacuums in my time that have just been thrown out just because the belt has snapped or there is a simple to remove blockage. if you maintain a vacuum cleaner, it will last you years. simple things like cleaning the filters and replacing the bag often can make them last longer. a few vacuums I have found in the trash before have only had a snapped belt and/or blockage. I take them in polish them up and repair them and- viola!!! they can instantly become part of my collection! the funny thing is however, I have never found a vacuum in the trash with a bust motor or they don't just turn on. they have all had very simple and easy to fix problems. one of my vacuums that I found in a skip was one of my green hoover pure powers from the late 90s keep a vacuum maintained, and some of them will even last longer than you!
