VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Dave,

Thank you , very much. And, Fred,  I don't mean to "Bogart" your thread about you vacs, house.

This is MY FINAL response to the 'elephant in the room,  that everyone has noticed'.

I will NOT discuss my dealings w/ the seminary or priesthood.  That is my past,  and, it wasn't dark or scandalous.

I will say this about Mr. Gregory:

He is a very good salesman.

He is an excellent technician, mechanic, serviceman. No one can say otherwise.  I know this firsthand. NOW...........

After all that has been said about me, and to me (phone) it is abundantly clear that we are not friends. Insults and inuendos are hard to ignore.  But,  from now on,  5:53 p.m.  02/26/13 I'm done with this part of my life. I fail to see how that can be rectified.. An ocean has now flowed under that bridge.

I've gotten numerous calls, emails, etc  about this.  I'm very grateful.

With the house,  new job,  3 to 4 headaches a week now,  I really don't need any of this. So,  this is my FINAL address to this.

Fred, I'm sure you'll just be glad when the house thing is all over, and you're unpacked in your new home.

Thanks to all of my VCCC friends.  Now, onto vacuums,  HOOVERS, and the 'others' too.

 John.

Wow!

This thread really ran off the rails didn't it?!?  Not sure how that happened but in any event - an update on the sales.  I am being really reasonable with the prices so all the machines with the exception of Terry's 880 and the Eureka Power Drive are sold.  I will donate the 880 at the convention for the raffle for the benefit of the club if it doesn't go and toss the Eureka Power Drive.

I am having to set up a spreadsheet to track all the sales which warms my CPA heart.  The fact of the matter is that so much is going on, I am losing track of it and we can't have that!

Nice to connect with all you folks and find new homes for these machines.  I keep on getting the comment that people are sorry I am thinning the herd.  Don't be.  I am not in financial difficulty, just reorganizing my life a bit.  Things are all good.  I go through these life changes occasionally and this is another one.  I just accumulated too much stuff and need to simplify.

Next up - when these machines are shipped - Hoover DAMS and some rare Luxes.  I must admit, as much as it is a pain to drag the machines to the UPS store, the 20 something guy who helps me is a doll and makes the trip all worthwhile!

Fred

Well

All the machines here are now spoken for except the Royal 880 plus some machines from the piles.  I'll post more this weekend.  We are really making a dent guys!  I am excited.

I've Been Thinking

About whether it is wise to put out the vacuums.  It is in the basement after all and only one room.  It is neat, organized and presented well.  One of the first brokers that came through that gave feedback said she loved the vacuum cleaners.  Even though they were piled up in the back.  It's the piling up in the back part of the basement that looks bad.  Well I am getting the piles down.

As for staging - the main and upper floors are staged beautifully.  I am gay after all.

Fasten your seat belts...

Fred,

Tarantula Arms is stunning! After seeing that video I need an dirty martini with extra olives! I think you are spot on about the vacuums. I truly believe it will be memorable for the potential buyer. Who knows? They may even ask to buy a vintage cleaner from you to maintain the house!

Again

Email me about the above shown machines.  Shipped 5 yesterday.  We're making a big dent in the basement.  Big project for this weekend.  Moving the Maytag Neptunes back up to the laundry room and the 906s to the basement.  The 906s are going with me. I forgot that they disconnected the 220 v dryer outlet in the basement when we wired up the 906 upstairs.  Thank goodness I remembered.  A new four prong outlet and a bit of rewiring and it works like a charm.  Amazing - these machines are 45 years old and still work like a charm.  And beautiful too.  Moved them down because I think they added to the impression of being dated.  Well they are dated, but fabulous.
