More vacs I've come across:o)

Hi, In the last few months or so I've got hold of a few vacs that I thought I would share. 

I've been meaning to post pics of them for a while now but just never got round to posting the pics....

1st up is a 1970s Goblin 702... I quite like it. It's quite weighty as well. It's also not to badly built as well for a cheaper vac. I have the hard floor tool and crevice tool for it somewhere as well...

Next...

Next we have a 1980s Hotpoint Super. My uncle and aunt had one of these and it has taken me ages to find another which was the same model/colour. I had the beige version of this but wanted the burgandy version as it's what my uncle and aunt had.

Nice cleaner. I have the attachment for this as well somewhere... They attach to the back of the cleaner. The long handles on these use to break. Hence not many of them around now.

Next...

Next we have a Electrolux z2060. Not many of these around now. The lower end z2020/2030 models turn up more often than the z2060.

I got around to sorting that 4x4 hose out. The Electrolux 4x4 replaced the Electrolux Dolphin as their flagship model but was not out that long.

Here we had a Electrolux z96 and z411... I do have the attachments for the z96 but can't find where I've put the picture of it with it's original attachments at the moment. The z411 needs a new suppressor fitting.

Nice collection! My 412 is still sat in the loft waiting for you to want it! It has no supressor though, it crumbled away so some solder and heatshrink filled in the missing link.

Must get it out soon for a play. Loving the 4x4!

Hi James,

Glad to see you still around these parts - you don't pop up anywhere near as often as you should!

Some great cleaners there, pleased you've managed to get some funky ones for the collection. Those Hotpoint uprights, despite the brittle handle, are actually pretty good vacuums. Our local community centre had the cream model for years, but sadly it was replaced by a Vax Rapide.

Love the Goblin. I just picked up a Goblin 141 for my collection. The toy Electrolux 330 is on my "to find list" They were a neat idea.

I have the toy 330, canister only - no attachments. Stan Kann gave it to me. Someone had given it to him and he was never really thrilled about it since it was "too modern" for him. It's fun that it actually has a motor and does produce a tiny bit of suction!

Pardon me for being "slightly" obsessed with Eureka vacs, but....

The carpet nozzle on your Goblin 702 looks suspiciously like the classic Eureka Williams carpet nozzle sold over on this side of the pond in the 1960's and 70's. Is that tool original to the vac? If yes, there must have been some production contract between Goblin and Eureka Williams or Sweden's Electrolux post 1974.... Verrrrry interesting!

Hi Sam, I've not forgot about the 412. I've just got my car MOT and Car tax coming up and I'm trying to be careful with what I'm buying... Plus I need to save up for a new Kirby Sentria 2 as well.



Hi Mr G, I've not got round to testing the Electrolux 330. I'll have to find 3 or 4 DD batteries and try it out.

It is missing the floor tool though. Then again it cost bugger all



Hi Brian, I have no idea if Goblin and Eureka have some kind of link but I know the head is original to the machine as the same head is shown in adverts of the time for this cleaner.

Hi Doug, What does the Goblin 141 look like? Where did you get it?

Hi, I got this early 90s AEG a few months back. I wanted this model as another aunt and uncle had this model vacuum cleaner after their Electrolux z520.

Next...

Here is a Goblin cylinder that I was given a week or two ago. I managed to find the picture of it.

 The hose is in good condition but it leaks air bad.

You can feel a draft from the end of the nozzle when it's running. The suction feels OK when you detach the hose from the cleaner it's self. 

I'm not sure how old it is either. I'm sure Doug will know...

And I managed to clean two of my gold plated Kirby's up....I keep my mint gold Ultimate G in a box to help keep it safe.
