More Universal - a great ad....

John!

I have that ad. The edges were torn a little when I got it, but the logo in the corner was nice and dark and complete (as far as print goes). I have used it to make T-shirts and other things after scanning it.

thanks for sharing....

Ok Rick....

Which came first, the Universal on a cart or the Sears Kenmore? Looks like it may have been Universal judging by the age of the ad...it seems to me that Ida and Helen didn't start teasing their hair until the early '60s...and still are I think! Hope you've combed that roller set out by now, or you'll have horrific roller marks!

Best of both worlds?

I have the Universal 'Roll-A-Vac' cart with a Kenmore Commander strapped to it. It came that way and the cart trolley was obviously an aftermarket addition - probably a less expensive option than the Kenmore KenKart. I have turned the cart handle inward to conserve space.

The Kenmore Ken-Kart is very similar in design. May I suspect the KenKart was made by The Universal OmniCorporation aka LF&C? Logic would say Yes but I'm just guessing.

KenKart

It's possible the carts for the KenKart may have been made by Universal, but all Kenmore vacuums were made by Birtman Electric (BeeVac) in Chicago until Birtman was bought by Whirlpool in 1959.
By the way, that's one beautiful Kenmore you have on that cart! Wish mine looked that nice!
