Not that familiar with Montgomery Wards, but I absolutely loved the colours and simple graphics that JCPenney used on their Eurekas and Hoovers!!! I am a big fan of simple, understated brand labelling on vacs (really dislike the overlabelling on many of today's vacs). Miele's understated labelling reminds me a lot of the graphics used by JCPenney in the 1970's and 1980's.

Apex-Built Montgomery Wards

The upright (with backward revolving brush), the canister, and the hand vacuum.
Note the ball bearings for wheels on the canister, it sounds like a garbage disposall as you pull it around. The M.W. on the nameplate is very cool looking.

Chad, that one is actually from 81-83ish, 1983 saw that one replaced by the Ranger Hood model in the same color scheme, then replaced in 85 with the 5 amp bag model and 6 amp Power Surge dirt cup

i know this thread is a few months old but i thought i might get some info on this montgomery ward power plus 5.0 amp eureka vacuum, my gram had it for as long as i could remember, and the last time i went to use it i noticed the plastic piece that connects the housing to the bag had a piece mission out of it, adn i have no idea where it went, so i cant glue it back in,
was wondering if anyone had any info on it so i could find that piece and just learn stuff about it, year it was made what eureka equivalent it is etc
