Hi I ran into trouble reassembling a switch into my Montgomery ward handvac a any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, same setup as the Royal.
I remember having a small issue getting mine mine back together but it was doable; I just cannot remember how i did it. It was a royal PITA until I found the trick.
Do not give up, it is just a brain teaser...

Problem solved
I figured out that a wire has to be in a certain position or the switch won't go in.
