Congrats Æolian-Dave on a lovely find, although at quite a premium price! On the other hand, you did get that gorgeous Westinghouse for a song, so I guess it all evens out eventually.

The Modern Hygiene is top among my favorite tank machines.

Thanks, Charles. I know one other person is not so happy for

I am primarily a cylinder tank guy so imagine how I was calculating while it showed no activity and that was strange given the excellent pictures. So I had to assume other's were watching it like I was.

And precisely why I could not mention it on my top want list in that other thread and what prompted my essay about 'want it, go for it and no regrets'.

I was prepared to go higher for this beauty of industrial design with all the pieces and that great tool suitcase.

It also means I can take a rest now and let things find me instead of stalking them. The Top 5 List is completed and we have moved down to the second tier.

I had a M Wards cleaner that looked just like that. I pulled it out of the trash ( out of an old barn) a long time ago. I couldn't figure out how to fix it or get it apart so it sat around for years. Sadly a quite a while ago I gave up on it and through it away. I will never do that again!!! It looked just like that but in a DARK grey color and it seemed to have a kind of fabric feel to it insted of paint. Maybe like denim.

This stunning complete vacuum ensemble has me all a-quiver with anticipation. I must remain calm as I won't be laying eyes & hands on it. the Singer S-2 or the Challenger until early November when I can get away to Butler PA. arghhhhh.

In preparation, soon I will set up a second tower for lodging all the cylinders that aren't Electrolux.
ie: Goblin, GE, Filtex, Plymouth, Apex,Westinghouse, Premier, Monitor, CT Master, Kenmore, etc, and leave a space for a future Hoover 50, a Universal Bomb and a nice blue Royal 401.

I really didn't realize there were so many different Cylinder makes out there until I joined this forum, read every archive, and visited Doug Smith's vacuum site and home in Moose Jaw. He has some beautiful Presidents that knock my socks off.

Dave,

You are coming to Butler, Pa in November. Thats kinda close to me here I am south of Pittsburgh. Maybe we could meet up while you are out this way.
