I was cleaning out my parent's home in preparation for a garage sale when I came across an old hand held vacuum. It's called "Modern Hygiene Junior Revolving Brush Hand Cleaner". It was made by the P. A. Geier Co. in Cleveland OH. Sorry I don't have a photo of it for you to look at yet, but I will soon. The motor actually works, but the brushes don't "revolve". I'm guessing the belt is gone. Any information about it would be great since I can't find ANYTHING about it on the internet. Does it have any value or do I sell it for a couple of bucks at the garage sale. The toggle switch is right on top of the unit....a fabric type bag that you empty, and a very long power cord for this type of unit. I was very surprised. Thank you in advance for any information you may have. :)

I'm not sure what it is worth. I've been searching the web and I cannot find one trace of information about it. Very strange.....Anyway, I posted a couple pictures for you to look at. If you have an offer in mind, I'm "all ears"!!! (:

It is a royal hand vac. Made by the Royal appliance company. They made many millions of them. They are extraordinarily common today. Modern Hygiene was just a private label that Royal used.

Thank you for the info...do you know of a website that shows a picture of this unit. I would like to read more about it. I am still interested in selling it so if anyone would like to make an offer, let me know. Enjoy your day!!! Raining here in MN :)

I googled Royal Vintage Hand Vac, and clicked on "images". There's tons of pics and information about that machine, which has been manufactured for more than seventy years.

Too bad they still aren't made today---we still have LOTS of car interiors and upolstered furniture to vacuum! Those machines were PERFECT for those jobs!Often these hand held machines were better than powered tools on canister vacuums.I don't like the "bagless" models made today-their filters clog to quickly and a pain to empty and clean. The metal Royal Princes could go almost forever!

They discontinue a reliable, durable product, design something new out of plastic...declare it to be new and improved but in reality it's a piece of #&%$*@!!!
