Model #1941 Packard Vacuum for sale

Good morning. Up for grabs is an original Packard Vacuum cleaner Model #1941. I have provided an imgur link to show more detailed pictures of it. I am currently asking $500. Please let me know if you are interested. I plan on listing it onto Ebay next. Thank you kindly!

It's an interesting machine, and it's nice that it's in one piece, but...

I passed on one from ebay for $100 (including shipping). Unless it's in GOOD working order - and I don't mean 'I plugged it in and it works' - you're not going to get anywhere near what you're asking. Matter of fact, there was a PRISTINE polished one on ebay a while back, it was posted for over a year, IIRC, asking for about $500 and they never sold it.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it is worth next to nothing. Even to the right person (which would probably be me, as nobody else around here [HERE!] seems to care much about Clements-made vacs) it's not worth anywhere near what you're asking. Plus shipping a large item like that (even though the handle is removable) is not cheap anymore. Shipping would likely be $40-80 in mainland US. And given that someone looking to buy one of these would want to pay that much in total, it becomes very difficult to sell something like this.

Yowsa! I have not seen anything hit close to that. The Packard is not like the Packard cars. You have to have a pristine Kirby, Hoover that's about it. Those are the only brands in pristine condition would merit the value. I'd say $50 is what a real value would be around. Shipping would be high because the long handles don't break down. I got to love the enthusiasm but rain or no rain that price won't be in ballpark.

If you want a second opinion, you can search ebay for 'vintage vacuum cleaner' and set the price range to a minimum of $100, and see all the old vacs there that have been posted for months or years. (Though bear in mind that what you have is nowhere near as desirable as a Kirby, Hoover, or Electrolux of the same vintage.)
