Hey Guys,

I found the most beautiful, clean and barely used Black and Decker FloorBuster, original batteries, charger and vacuum all in great condition.. Best part, it was only $5 bucks at my local second hand shop.

I was over the moon to find this blast from the late 90’s?? If someone can please help me correctly date when these were manufactured.. I’d appreciate it. I put it in the “From the past 20 year” category as I found them for sale on Amazon as late as 2010. But have NO idea when B&D stopped manufacturing them.

It’s so cute and works really well and I’m astonished at how lightly used it is and how the batteries still hold a charge and work for a long time. Like I said, this was so clean it must have been in some little old ladies closet for years and rarely used.

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated on this vacuum. I found some things online, but I’m not sure which dates are correct.

Thanks and I hope this is ok under the “Past 20 year machines”??? I try very hard to post correctly.

Patrick

I had two, one for me, one for mom, friend got one also. Almost grandson ran it to death and he is 22 now, so would have been 2-3 then, no idea how old it was then however. So maybe 20-24 years ago?

The VersaPAK battery system came out in the mid-90s and lasted until the mid millennium. Black and Decker made an entire range of tools they work with, from worklights to power drills to bathroom tub and tile scrubbers. You are lucky that those batteries are still good, as they are NiCad, they do not like to sit dormant, so the previous owner must have maintained them.
