Mini Meet In Georgia yesterday!

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Hi Hans! I'm so glad you guys came up for a visit. I had a wonderful time, I just wish I could have been a better host. Grandmother wasn't having a good day, so that's why we stayed in the shop. Next time I promise I'll give you guys a tour of the house, 'cause I've got another antique or two I want to show you. BTW, tell Donald I asked Mom about the old Christmas stuff, and she said that though she couldn't be 100% sure, there's a good chance there's some in Nanny's attic, and we'd be more than happy to give him first crack at them. Here's hopeing for another visit real soon, Trg

Gee whizz, guys. I'm exhausted and breathless. What a fine time you had basking in the dusty glow of all that vacuum-tude. Any group shots of the usual human suspects who attended?
Just gazing at all those vintage coloured hoses is a trip but:

A Firestone/Eureka Roto-Matic Vibra-beat? That's a new one on me...

Oh Dear God In Heaven, that Kingston tank...swoon.

Permanently putting the Westinghouse MC-1 on the Holy Grail list, since I'll never find one. :-(

Glad to see you have an Electrolux 89, Toby. :-)

Dave

Holy Cowabunga Bat Boy! That is one hell of a load of great stuff! Yes, and now we know what the Cadillac attachments look like! Just some stunning things in there. I loved the Firestone goodies. And the Kingston! I'm glad you guys had a great time.

Hi Guys! Yeah, we had a great time the other night. It was simple, yet alot of fun. I'll try to post some more pics of the Kingston tank, which I even have the instruction book for, when I get this crazy computer where I can post pics again. BTW Dave, that 89 is one of my FAVORITE Luxs, now I'm just hopeing for ANY version of the red 88s with the red tools. Later, Trg

We did have a good time,

although far too brief! However, there were no fewer than twenty-seven "Here's what my Grandpa did once" stories. Such a good humored bunch!!! We all left Toby's knowing that we will have to do this again. And again! Thanks for the vacuum talk and the stories kids, it was great...

For those who haven't had the opportunity to see Toby's or Hans' vacuum collections or Donald's Christmas decorations or heck - the vintage appliances filling the home in Mocksville - you just can't imagine all of the history and the great things these three guys have acquired. The knowledge these gentlemen have is astounding. You learn something new with each visit or conversation.

Hans, thanks again for the use of the (secret - don't tell anybody) part that I returned...finally. It was most helpful! Hope you,(Hans and Donald) didn't get blasted with too much rain on the way home!!!

Rick
