soo i made toast today but the toaster had a electrical issue!!!


the dang thing was on fire!!!!!!!!!!!


i unplug it spray some backing soda in it took it outside After i unplug it of course and spray it with the garden hose on full blast .


the kitchen is okay no damage at all thank god just the toaster had a shorth or some thing went poof had flame bout 3 inch in side her dam thing.
so i trew backing soda almsot the whole box in her and took it outside cut the cord and spray it with water . lord not how i wantedto start my tuesday playing fire fighter .Every one is safe the kitchen not a single scratch the coutner and curtain are not damage nothign is burn just the insdie of my toaster and my toast ..... housei s safe but i was scared.

Odd

When I was young my mother was cooking and grease off pan popped into a burner. It started a fire. Grease fires are put out by smothering or foam like a fire sprinkler in a kitchen would.
Glad everything is safe. I tip my toaster getting crumbs out. I also use it on a granite slab.

The thing is i clean it the day before!! Must of had a shorth i nthe wires some were its gone now .

Could have been the heating element...

I'm glad you and your home are okay, even if the toaster is, well, 'toast'.

Heating elements will sometimes produce a flame when they fail. I've seen it happen on small appliances and stove burners alike. My parents had a GE toaster oven back in the late '70s or early '80s that had a heating element fail and flame out. Back then, it was more economical to repair appliances than to replace them so they got a new heating element put in and used it for probably another fifteen or twenty years without any further issues.

was quite the scare.

Ya but it made alot of smoke and flame so i got really scare .Put out the fire and trew it outside on the patio and hose it down for 5 mins .Its gone for sure lots of water ,then cool it off and cutthe cord Now its gone no way is it staying inside!!!
Im thankfull me and my mom and the hosue is ok no damage and the smoke smell is gone .
