If a set-up like Miele are going to follow this route then heaven help the future for the quality vacuum cleaner market.
I've noticed that over the past few years that Nilfisk quality / individuality has been going down.

Miele uprights

I have a Miele powerhouse upright. It works fairly well on carpet and rugs, but it pretty wimpy on hardwoods. It has great suction, it's quiet, and it is pretty easy to use with the tools. However, the brush roll has beater bars built in it like the newer hoovers. OF course you can't use it with the brush roll going on bare floors and it doesn't have enough bristles to sweep the floor with it off like the old Panasonics did. I wonder if you could exchange the brushrolls with a Panasonic brush roll.

Miele uprights

I have an older Miele upright I got as a trade-in somewhere in my collection. Are they still made in Spain?

Nope. .

The last version to be made in spain was the Mce468. It was also the last version to have a roller stop facility. However i still rate them as the best budget upright on the uk market . Seamus
