Hey yall!

I’ve been a long time lurker, and once an active member on the sister site, but this is my first post. Happy to be here!

I’ve always wanted an Art and scored a nice used one, but the handle broke during shipment. Epoxy did nothing, and I’m out of ideas. I’ve been calling all repair shops in NYC, plus many out of state, and nothing.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix the issue? Maybe a member has one laying around somewhere?

Also, the bags are becoming very scarce; is there a way to jerry-rig something once I’m all out? Cut open a small bag and secure it over the opening, Hoover Junior style? Find a generic with a paper insert and use the surrender one to make as a template to cut it?

Thank you all for your help!

Epoxy wont work because its a high stress area, it will just flex and re-break again. You would need to plasticweld this part with a hot stapler and strengthen the break that way. Miele Arts show up on eBay it seems every 3-5 months, seldomly. The Miele Art uses Type L bags, you can still find these which can be expensive. The Miele Art has fallen into the realm of being a collectible vacuum now, and it would be highly difficult to try and use as a everyday vacuum due to lack of parts and supplies for it to support high consumption.
