Can one of you experts tell me what this adaptor is for? It came with my Miele. It fits in the bare floor tool and into the end of the wand. Basically, the same dementions of the Miele attachments. This has always puzzled me.

Thanks!

Adaptor

Mine came with my universal brush attachment, makes it much easier to use than just putting directly on the end of the hose. Not sure why it was made that way?

Perhaps it is to allow older tools to fit?

I seem to remember back in the 1990s, Miele had available several different carpet turbo-brush heads. I'm sure one of them was to fit older Mieles; another was suitable to fit other brands of cleaner.

An odd solution to a nonexistent problem

These adapters were included with the canisters equipped with electric wands. Because of the oval shape of the electric wand, necessary to facilitate the electrical wiring on the back, customers would sometimes have a hard time with slotting the electric wand and bare floor brush on the side of the machine in the "Storage and Carrying" position. It was probably included with your SUB20 brush because of the male electrical connection on the end of the wand interfering with the cuff of the SUB20 brush. Either they readjusted the size of the wand, or made adjustments to future machines to eliminate this issue because they haven't been included with any of the Miele electric canisters we've sold in the last 4 years that I've been a Miele dealer.

These were sold with Miele canisters because the handle and wand was bulky .
S500 s600 s700 s5000 era of machines. And helped extend the crevice tool to fit in tight crevices.
