Well, it WILL work, until the bag explodes off the vacuum!

When i got my U1036 it had this plastic bag inside how they thought that would work i shall never know. I mean i got a pack of 5 (generic) bags for £2.49 not that bad at all

Well I would not suggest making your own bags. Yes they are expensive but not that much, also you might ruin your vacuum. I usually buy the best vacuum under 100 which are very popular and have a lot of review and I would not risk them. Here is quick list with all top sellers: http://vacuumconsult.com/best-vacuum-cleaner-under-100. If bagged vacuums and buying bags is not your thing, get a bagless vacuum, it should work too.

Years ago, my friend and former VCCC board member Clay Floyd sold a GE Swivel Top vacuum to a lady. She called him up several weeks later complaining it had no suction. He stopped by her home (it was on his way home from work), only to discover she had put a paper grocery bag into the thing. He said "Where did you get that bag"? She said "Ah had it around da house". He told her that her warranty had just expired.

Looked at the list in the link-one of the suggested machines was the Eureka-Sanitaire Mighty Mite.Have one of these.the person shown in the picture is trying to use his to pick up leaves off what appears to be a clean garage floor.A Shop type vacuum or leafblower would be a more appropriate tool for that job.The Mighty Mites bag will fill quickly with those leaves-not to mention they could clog the hose and wands. The vac place here tells me of someone who tried to use a plastic bag in place of a disposable one!!!We all know the results--NO SUCTION and OVERHEATED motor! The Mighty Mite is indeed a good vacuum to use as a companion to an upright.
