My solution to rural mailbox damage. After making a swivel post to thwart plow drivers & drunks, the box became a victim of a ball bat. I happened to notice that the ring on the bottom of a propane can is about the same radius as the mail box door, so---------- a little cutting & welding, and go ahead! Hit that thing! I bet it hits back!

Maybe you should call it...THE OBLONG OF HORROR!!!

Hey! That sounds like an old B horror flick. I can almost see it now, staring Christopher Lee and Vincent Price - Too afraid to open the mailbox. Will it be a hand waiting for them, or worse yet....A BILL!!!!!

U.S. mailboxes

I remember reading somewhere that U.S. mailboxes come in two sizes, and that if you buy both sizes, fit the smaller inside the larger, and fill the resulting gap with concrete, it has a similar effect on the 'baseball bat brigade'..... ;-)

All best

P.S. I'm looking to make a 'LPG bottle barbeque' sometime soon.. :)
