Hmmmm I wonder why mine does close. What is the mechanism that is supposed to prevent it from closing? There is some kind of spring latch clip on the side middle of the door but not sure what it is supposed to do.

Yes but unfortunately being in Canada by the time you tack on exchange rate, shipping, import duties, etc. the bags will probably end up costing double the price.
