Rolls, the problem then was obtaining the correct filters. It was a minefield and I think Electrolux were incredibly short sighted in this, because they were trying to compete with Dyson, and the DC01 filters I have to say were far easier find and install.

Speaking of Electrolux vacuums is there anyone who owns EU Lux vacuums?
Just a bit background information: Lux is the high end Electrolux same way as US Aerus Electrolux.
They are only sold door to door. They used to be Electrolux, but they became Lux when Electrolux became mainstream brand and Lux high end brand.
I have early to mid 90's Lux Royal D790. It came standard with HEPA filter casing so it must have been one of the first true HEPA vacuums.
It's one of my all time favorite canister vacuum. Very well made and a lot of power. Yes I have measured suction and airflow. Believe or not, but it's pair with my Miele C3 (1600w).
Motor is dual stage 1150 watt affair. You can select min, max or automatic suction. Very handy. What is not so handy is the weight and size of the vacuum, but I don't mind. Motor sound is pleasant and soft.
A lot spare parts still available including new motor and change to rebuilt the powerhead almost completely. These almost always came with the powerhead.
Standard rug & barefloor nozzle is automatic. It adjusts bristles according to the floor type.
